To celebrate Poetry Month we invited local poet, Maura Johnston to school on Wednesday 18th October. Maura worked with the children in each of the classes, reading and writing poems.
Children discussed rhythm, rhyme, similes, alliteration and other features of poetry writing.
These skills will help the children not only in their poetry writing but across others areas of writing aswell.
