P6-7 LASCO MATHS CHALLENGE
On Friday 3rd February 2012, Primary 6-7 took part in the LASCO Maths Challenge.
The problem-solving quiz kept the P6-7 pupils highly engaged as they worked tirelessly to figure out the answers to sixteen maths-based questions.
The Maths Challenge was in aid of the Latin American Street Children Organisation (LASCO) – the Derry-based charity which raises money to provide food, clothes and education programmes for Latin American street children.
The LASCO Maths Challenge, which is believed to be the biggest challenge of its kind on the island of Ireland, saw pupils from almost 80 primary and secondary schools collaborate to discuss and form strategies to solve mathematical problems.
