PARENTS' READING WORKSHOP
DEVELOPING YOUR CHILD'S READING SKILLS - A WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS
It is vital that parents know and understand how they can support their child's reading at home and so a special Parent Workshop will take place on Tuesday 11th October 2011 at 7.00pm in the School Sports Hall.
It is hoped that at least one parent from each family will attend to hear about strategies that can be used to help children develop essential reading skills. The workshop will be relevant to parents of children in all classes in primary school, and not simply the early years of school life.
The school is delighted to, once again, have the support of Ms Maureen McConville, the 'SELB Senior Adviser for Language & Literacy' (who previously visited the school to deliver a workshop on Linguistic Phonics). Those of you who have met Maureen will know that an informative, enjoyable evening is guaranteed as Maureen shares strategies with parents in an engaging, down to earth, fun way!
We look forward to seeing you at 7.00pm on Tuesday 11th October 2011!
