The 2023 Safer Internet Day theme is: Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online.
To mark #saferinternetday our pupils took part in a range of workshops and lessons focused on staying safe online.
The internet has many benefits, but can be a negative place where online abuse, trolling, bullying and harassment can take place.
This week we have discussed with the children knowing when, where and how to seek support and help if they see something online that makes them worried or uncomfortable.
We also considered how everyone has a role to play in creating and maintaining a better and safer online world that can be enjoyed by all.
Our Foundation and KS1 one pupils discussed the online world with the help of Digi Duck, while our KS2 pupils took part in the BBC Live Lesson discussing the rules for keeping safe online: how to recognise risks, harmful content and contact, and how to report them to stay safe.
